Intragovernmental coordination has recently emerged as an empirical and theoretical theme in the literature on political science and public administration. The objective is to analyze the constitutive bases of intragovernmental coordination and how they operate within the Brazilian Federal Executive. Three policies are examined, according to the criteria for varying forms of coordination in the period between 2007 and 2014. The conclusions point to new coordination arrangements, institutionalization of federal agencies and high capacity of public bureaucracies to promote coordination given its characteristics of stability and incentives for the occupation of management positions together with the development of political capacities.
